2017 garden plans

This year, Norman Johnston has successfully applied for a garden grant through Whole Kids Foundation.  This funding, along with our school’s partnership with the garden-based education program, Growing Up Organic, will allow our students an opportunity to develop their environmental stewardship and help us to foster a schoolwide culture of health.

Our workshops will be starting in April and will be open to all Norman Johnston students looking to learn more about garden planning, seed starting, composting, transplanting, irrigation, seed saving, harvesting and building raised beds.

See you next time!

Previous years in the garden

At Norman Johnston, we strive for a culture of healthy and sustainable living.  In 2014, we started a school garden to provide fresh, healthy food for our school and community.
